Pssst.…The City’s “Refreshed” Website Is Up

rsz_1scbranding

The City of San Carlos introduced its website facelift….in stealth mode.
The refresh “went live” on Monday, November 7th. Four days later, the City sent out an e-notify email inviting resident subscribers to check out the “refreshed page.”

The new look is part of the city’s new branding campaign that aims to “market local businesses.” This includes a redesign of the City’s new logo, emphasizing the tagline, “The City of Good Living.” The website has a prominent slider of photos with captions that read: “Live Here. Dine Here. Play Here.”

Pssst.... Have I got a program for you?

I experienced many powerful moments while attending the Arts, Science and the Brain Conference last week in Toronto. The gathering, convened by Artssmarts, sought to engage participants in questions about how learning in the 21st century could be informed and enriched by current understandings of brain science. In particular, I was inspired by a focus on how the brain is affected by participation in artistic experiences, a focus which helped to frame the conference's perspective and approach.

Pssst…. Thank you, Pass it On!

I once heard a very wise man say that in order to be successful, you need to enlist others to help you and you do that by sharing your dreams and vision.  My dream is to make the world better by helping YOU have a wonderful, rich life by connecting to your history and the world around you, starting with Indianapolis. Seems every week, I get an email with a question or comment about something that sparked a conversation, action or previously unknown interest of an H.I. reader.

Pssst.... Dear Joe

I was walking hurriedly and hopefully to reach the class before the starting of the lecture, while I was making my long and wide steps I noticed her behind doing the same, I opened the door and stepped into the class and stayed seizing the handle waiting for her to pass through, when she became beside me for my surprise she rewarded me with attractive smile that woman can give to a gallant man like me who value deeply that sensitive creature who called ”the woman”. After the conclusion of the lecture and without intention I vow, the same scenario repeated itself once again and I think at this point we exchanged few words outside the class for the first time and it was the beginning and for my astonish I started replacing that impression of that stern woman who have nothing for all!!!!

Pssst.... We love fairy mist!

Has one of your little darlings ever felt down in the dumps?  Were they in need of a magic fairy to make their day all better?   Then let me let you in on a little secret.  Over here in my class where we are always trying to make the sun shine, we use rose water for its aromatherapy benefits.

Pssst.... It's the sugar, not the fish.

Ever since I saw the film Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead (which I loved), I've been binging a bit on nutrition documentaries. One I caught recently is called Chow Down.   It follows three people with serious health conditions who are put on a program to see if they can improve their health through a vegetarian diet.

Pssst.... Hair sneak peek... Do you like it?

REDHEAD BOUQUET
Hair sneak peek. I can’t decide if i should leave it like this—intentionally kind of two-toned and decidedly inelegant (but i sort of love it)—or go over it with the blonde dye i have. (Head to site to see the new doo)
